The variety is characterized by high vigor and an upright bush type. Requires proper pruning to control yield. Belongs to the third period of ripening, adapted to warm and dry Mediterranean conditions, but is sensitive to frost and a number of fungal diseases, including downy mildew and powdery mildew.

Leaves of the variety are small or medium, deeply lobed. Bunches are medium or large, conical or cylindrical-conical. Berries are small or medium, slightly oval, with thin skin and juicy flesh. In wines where the variety is used as a component, notes of red berries, plum, and spices are manifested.
