Variety description

An early ripening variety with early bud break. Bunches are medium to large in size, conical, and loose. Berries are medium-sized, bluish-black in color with thin skin and juicy pulp. The grape is well-adapted to acidic, calcareous, stony, and sandy soils.

The variety is resistant to most grapevine diseases but sensitive to mites. The main cultivation difficulties are a tendency toward millerandage and coulure, which causes unstable yields. The vine requires short pruning.

A wine variety for the production of wines possessing fruity, floral, and specific herbaceous notes, known as garrigue. It can be used both in blends and for the production of varietal wines.
