The variety belongs to the species Vitis vinifera L. It is a vigorous plant with late budburst and a late ripening period. The bunches have a conical shape, medium size, and high berry density, which creates a risk of cracking under high humidity. The berries are medium-sized, round, with thin skin.

The variety is moderately susceptible to powdery mildew and downy mildew, while being highly prone to phomopsis and grey mold, as well as being sensitive to drought. The grapes are used both for monovarietal wines and in blends to provide structure and aromatic complexity. The wines are dominated by notes of honeysuckle, apple, pear, peach, and citrus.
