Variety description

The vine is characterized by medium vigor and powerful shoots. Leaves are small, five-lobed, round-shaped with arachnoid pubescence on the underside. Clusters are small, cylindro-conical, of medium density. Berries are small, round or round-oval in shape, black, covered with a bluish waxy bloom, and have thick skins.

The variety belongs to the medium or medium-late maturity group and is considered low-yielding. The plant possesses resistance to drought and heat, but is susceptible to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and grey rot, and is prone to flower shedding and millerandage. Wines from this variety are distinguished by their deep color, high tannin content, acidity, and complex aroma.
