The variety has ancient origins and is genetically an aromatic mutation of Savagnin Rose. It is used for the production of high-quality white wines, including dry and dessert varieties. The clusters are small and dense, the berries acquire a reddish or pink hue upon ripening, and the leaves are rounded and slightly lobed with a rough surface.

The plant is considered a demanding crop with brittle wood. There is a tendency towards uneven fruiting due to shatter, which negatively affects yields. The variety has high requirements for vineyard location and has low frost resistance.
