The variety is a complex hybrid obtained by crossing the Castets variety and breeding material I-35-9. The vines are characterized by vigorous shoot growth that is not prone to excessive density. The variety is demanding regarding location, prefers warm sites and southern slopes, and does not tolerate prolonged drought well.

The leaf is large, five-lobed, with a bullate surface. Clusters are medium-sized, conical, winged, and of medium density. Berries are small, blue, round, with thick skin and gelatinous melting pulp containing anthocyanins. The ripening period is mid-late or late.

The variety has good resistance to downy mildew and spring or winter frosts, but is sensitive to powdery mildew. Yields vary from 5 to 13 t/ha depending on soil fertility. Wines made from it are characterized by intense color, pronounced tannins, and notes of blueberry, anise, and licorice.
