ActiveVitis vinifera L. · Common grape vine
TIMOTHY SHEEHAN

The family unites many varieties, including Trebbiano Toscano, Romagnolo, and d'Abruzzo. As a raw material, the variety is valued for its high and stable yield, as well as its ability to impart acidity and freshness to wines. In France, the variety is known as Ugni blanc.
Morphologically, most varieties are characterized by rounded five-lobed leaves, medium or large cylindrical-conical bunches, and light yellow berries with juicy flesh. Late ripening is characteristic of many members of the group.
Wines produced from Trebbiano are usually characterized by a neutral profile, medium body, and the absence of pronounced tannins. The varieties possess high adaptability to various terroirs, however, their degree of disease resistance varies depending on the specific member of the family.
