The variety is a descendant of the Beba variety and is traditionally grown in the Valencia and Castilla-La Mancha regions. It belongs to the group of mid-ripening varieties and is characterized as a productive vine.

The grapes are used to create varietal wines possessing a golden color, aromas of apricot, apple, and pear, as well as nutty notes and balanced acidity. The variety has complex synonymy and in a number of studies may be erroneously linked to other local varieties.
