The variety is autochthonous to the Dalmatia region in Croatia. It historically grew in vineyards and on pergolas, and currently it is included in the national list of recognized varieties, despite its status as a critically endangered species.

The plant is characterized by large and loose clusters. The variety has a multitude of local synonyms, among which are Cibić, Cibid, Cibig, Cibik, Cibit, Cicib, Cimbob, Ciribob and Cvimbob.
