The variety is a wine grape used in winemaking. It was genetically identified using microsatellite marker analysis, which confirmed its distinctness from other known grape varieties.
Studies of the anthocyanin profile in the berry skin showed that the main component is malvidin-3-glucoside (about 39%). The specific features of the anthocyanin composition give wines made from this variety specific color and taste characteristics.
