The variety is an ancient local variety from the Loire and Rhône valleys. It is genetically related to the Mondeuse Blanche variety. The vines are distinguished by high vigor and a semi-erect shoot growth habit. Leaves are rounded, three- or five-lobed, with a closed petiolar sinus. Buds burst early, approximately 3 days before the Chasselas variety.
Bunches are medium-sized, compact, and cylindrical. Berries are medium, round, white with a possible pinkish hue at maturity and a waxy bloom; skin is of medium thickness. The variety is moderately resistant to downy mildew and powdery mildew, while being susceptible to black rot and grey mold.
To ensure productivity due to the moderate fertility of the basal buds, long pruning and the use of trellises are recommended. The variety is intended for winemaking. Wines made from it have a pale yellow-greenish hue, pronounced acidity, and aromas of citrus, exotic fruits, and flowers.
