The variety is classified as a wine grape, characterized by vigorous shoot growth and late maturity. The leaves are large, rounded, and turn red by autumn. The clusters are predominantly cylindrical and medium-sized. The berries are small or medium, dark blue, almost black in color.
The plant is demanding in cultivation, tolerates drought poorly, and requires short pruning. The variety is susceptible to powdery mildew and downy mildew but shows resistance to gray mold. Yield is low and unstable, which historically limited production volumes.
Wines from this variety possess deep color and pronounced acidity. Historically, it was used as a single varietal or in blends to improve color and structural characteristics. Currently, the variety is considered rare and genetically valuable.
