The variety is autochthonous to Spain, obtained as a result of the natural crossing of Gibi and Brustiano faux varieties. The plant is medium-vigorous, characterized by late bud break. The variety is undemanding and drought-tolerant; however, it does not tolerate excessive moisture well and is susceptible to downy mildew.
Clusters are large and loose, berries are medium-sized with thin skin of a light greenish-yellow color. Wines from this variety at a young age possess fruity notes and moderate acidity; with aging, they acquire an oily texture and aromas of honey, nuts, and dried fruits.
The variety is high-yielding and adapted to mechanical harvesting. For winemaking, artificial yield restriction is often required to improve product quality.
