The variety was obtained by crossing Băbească neagră with the hybrid combination Merlot x Alicante Bouschet. It belongs to the IV ripening epoch; harvesting is carried out from September 1 to September 15. The berries are black-blue in color, small or medium, weighing about 3.3 g; clusters weigh 160–190 g.

The grapes are characterized by a high concentration of anthocyanins in the skin and pulp. The yield is about 4.5–4.86 kg per vine or approximately 16.6 tonnes per hectare. The sugar content in the fruit reaches 210–230 g/l with an acidity of 3.5–5 g/l.
