The Škrlet variety, also known by the synonym Ovinek Slatki, is autochthonous to the Moslavina and Pokuplje regions of Croatia. The name of the variety is linked to the appearance of the berries at the ripening stage: reddish-purple spots appear on their surface.
The plant possesses high vigor and is classified as a late-budding variety. The variety is characterized by a medium to long ripening period and provides stable yields. Its agrobiological features include relatively low susceptibility to many common grape diseases.
The grapes are used in winemaking to produce white wines. Within the framework of breeding work, individual clones of this variety have been identified and certified.
