Plavac mali belongs to wine grape varieties of medium or medium-late maturity. The clusters are small to medium, the berries have a dark blue, almost black color, a round shape, and are covered with a thick waxy bloom. The thick skin of the berries provides resistance to adverse weather conditions, while the variety possesses medium resistance to fungal diseases.
The variety is characterized as productive and consistently bearing. It is used exclusively for the production of high-quality red wines with high alcohol and tannin content, distinguished by a complex aroma with notes of blackberry, dark cherry, spices, and pepper. The use of the name Pagadebit Crni reflects the historical significance of the variety as a reliable crop.
