In viticulture, the name Pljuskavac most often acts as a synonym for the wine grape variety Vulpea of Italian origin. Genetic studies have identified this variety as the result of a natural crossing of an unknown variety with the Visparola variety. There are mentions where Pljuskavac is also attributed to the Trbljan/Kuč variety.
In modern Croatia, this grape is included in official lists, but plantings of the variety are limited. Its affiliation with a particular breeding variety depends on regional peculiarities of name usage. This name is also used as a local term for cherry plum (Prunus cerasifera), which requires clarification of the context when working with the document.
