The name acts as a collective term for several autochthonous grape varieties in the Balkan region and Hungary. It is most often used as a synonym for the Kövidinka variety — an ancient white wine variety with a pinkish skin hue, which is characterized by late maturity and resistance to frost, drought, and grey mold.
In official Croatian databases, this name is also classified as a synonym for the dark variety Okatac, which is a crossbreed of the Vugava and Plavac Mali Crni varieties. In a number of cases, other local varieties may be concealed under this name, for example Glavinuša; therefore, accurate identification of the plant is possible only through genetic analysis or association with a specific region.
