The variety was obtained by crossing an intermediate form (Sauvignon Blanc × Riesling) with a partner containing genetic material of Vitis amurensis and Vitis vinifera. It is known under the breeding number VB CAL 6-04.
The ripening period is early or early-mid. The bushes are of medium vigor, clusters are small, of medium density. Berries are medium, round, acquiring a yellow-pinkish hue upon ripening. The berry skin is thick, which provides resistance to gray mold.
The variety possesses high resistance to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and gray mold. It is characterized by good cane ripening and high winter hardiness. It is sensitive to magnesium and potassium deficiency in the soil; the foliage can be damaged by wind.
The wines are characterized by complex aromatics with notes of apricot, apple, citrus, and exotic fruits. A key feature is the maintenance of consistently high acidity even during late harvest.
