The variety belongs to the Western European ecological-geographical group. The young shoot has a greenish-white, densely pubescent tip with pink leaf margins. The clusters of the variety are typically small and compact in shape.

The variety is demanding in terms of care and susceptible to fungal diseases such as downy mildew, black rot, and grey mold, especially when grown in humid climates. The harvest is used exclusively for winemaking, both in single-varietal wines and in blends, where it exhibits characteristic notes of gooseberry, citrus, and green apple.
