The Tai (Friulano) variety belongs to late-ripening wine grape varieties. The leaf is rounded, slightly dissected, three- or five-lobed. Clusters are small or medium, cylindro-conical, often winged, of medium density. Berries are small, round, white, and covered with a thick waxy bloom.

The variety has high productivity, requiring yield control. Resistance to diseases is low: it is highly susceptible to downy mildew and powdery mildew, and prone to rot due to the thin skin of the berries. Wines are characterized by body and an alcohol content of up to 14.5%.

The Tai Rosso variety is a red grape and is a genetically identical analog of the Garnacha (Grenache) variety.
