Cultivation
Aster L.
When using asters in flower beds, their high tolerance to transplanting during the flowering phase and strict phytosanitary requirements for crop rotation are taken into account.
In the reference 8 varieties crop Aster, where this is mentioned in the description.
Asters have a high transplanting capacity, which allows them to be used in flower beds as a replacement crop to substitute faded plants even during the budding phase. When planning the planting pattern, it is necessary to consider the varietal plant height, which varies from 10 to 150 cm, and maintain a distance of up to 40 cm for tall varieties to avoid overcrowding and prevent fungal diseases such as Fusarium wilt.
The aster root system is mainly located in the topsoil layer up to 20 cm, which requires regular moisture maintenance but allows for shallow cultivation. When arranging in flower beds, it is critical to exclude the return of the crop to the same site for at least 4–5 years and avoid planting after Asteraceae or crops susceptible to Fusarium wilt, such as tulips, gladioli, and carnations.
