Irrigation in agriculture consists of a complex of measures for managing soil water, nutrient, and thermal regimes to ensure stable yields regardless of weather conditions. This method allows for increasing crop productivity several-fold compared to dryland farming and regulating end-product quality indicators, such as protein or oil content.

A crucial factor is multi-disease resistance, as increased humidity in the air and soil in irrigated fields creates a favorable microclimate for the development of various pathogens.
