Trifolium resupinatum L.
Persian clover is an annual legume that effectively improves soil structure and enriches it with nitrogen. It is characterized by rapid biomass formation, high adaptability to difficult soil conditions, and the absence of overwintering issues, which simplifies returning the field to crop rotation.
In the reference 3 varieties crop Persian clover, where this is mentioned in the description.
Persian clover is characterized by rapid initial growth after the 4–5 leaf stage, allowing it to form a dense stand that effectively suppresses weeds. Thanks to its well-developed root system, the plant contributes to high-quality loosening and structuring of deep soil layers. The crop's biomass is distinguished by high nutritional value, with a crude protein content of approximately 17 percent, which ensures intensive mineralization when incorporated into the soil.
Unlike perennial clover species, this crop is annual and dies off from the first autumn frosts, posing no risk of weed infestation in subsequent plantings. Persian clover has high tolerance to drought and heat and is also capable of developing successfully in heavy and waterlogged soils. Despite its vigorous growth, it is sensitive to weed competition during early stages, which is why it is often sown in mixtures with cereal grasses to increase effectiveness.
