The Brighton variety, also known by the breeding number SRX 1120, is intended primarily for creating playing surfaces on golf course greens, tees, and fairways. It is included in professional grass seed mixtures.
The plant possesses an ultra-fine leaf texture and dark green color. The variety is distinguished by good seed germination energy and active horizontal growth via above-ground shoots, which allows it to form a dense and smooth playing surface.
In comparative trials, the variety demonstrated susceptibility to dollar spot and brown patch compared to the latest breeding achievements, however, it possesses better adaptation characteristics compared to older varieties, such as Penncross.
