The shrub has a compact shape and reaches a height of 30 to 60 cm. In the summer, the leaves are an intense red or purple-red color when grown in sunny areas; in shaded conditions, the foliage color may change to bright green.
Flowering occurs in May and June with small yellow flowers, after which decorative red berries form on the plant in September. The variety is characterized by high resistance to frost down to -30 °C, wind, drought, and tolerates pruning well, making it suitable for hedges and container gardening.
