Compact shrub with spreading shoots forming a rounded crown up to 1 m in diameter. Young spring shoots are red or reddish-pink, turning yellow over time. Leaves are light red in spring, yellow-green in summer, and acquire a rich orange hue in autumn.
The plant blooms in May with small yellow or red-yellow flowers. In autumn, bright red oblong fruits ripen on the branches, remaining on the shrub throughout winter. The variety is winter-hardy, withstanding temperatures down to -34...-40°C, drought-tolerant, and undemanding to soil conditions.
Used for creating borders, hedges, mixed borders, and rock gardens, as well as a color accent in landscape compositions.
