The shrub is characterized by a spreading, dense form with arched branches and reaches a height of 0.6 to 1 m. The small leaves have an oval-ovate or lanceolate shape and a burgundy-red color, contrasting with the golden-yellow young shoots. The annual growth is 10–15 cm.
In May-June, the plant blooms with small yellow flowers, after which shiny coral-red oblong fruits are formed. The variety withstands temperatures down to -26°C and belongs to the 4th winter hardiness zone.
The plant is undemanding to soils, prefers well-drained areas with a neutral or slightly acidic reaction, and does not tolerate excessive moisture. It responds well to pruning and rejuvenation pruning, and is suitable for hedges, borders, and container gardening.
