The plant is a fast-growing deciduous shrub with a height of 0.8 to 1.5 m and a vertical growth habit. In spring, young leaves have a bright orange-red or coral-pink color, which as they mature changes to a deep red with a golden border up to 2 mm wide.
Flowering occurs in April-May with small yellow flowers, and in autumn, shiny scarlet or red-orange fruits appear. The shrub is characterized by high frost resistance down to -26…-35°C, disease resistance, and good tolerance to pruning.
