The shrub has an upright, columnar, or dense bushy habit, reaching a height of 0.8–1 meter. In spring, the foliage has a bright orange hue, becoming bright red or purple with a yellow border in summer. The plant blooms in May with small yellow flowers, followed by the formation of red fruits.
The variety is light-loving, prefers moderately moist and well-drained soils, while maintaining tolerance to various soil types. The plant is resistant to frost, pests, diseases, and sunburn. It is used in small gardens, container gardening, and for creating borders and hedges.
