The shrub is characterized by slow growth, forming a dense vertical crown with a diameter of 0.4–0.6 m. Leaves are elliptical or elongated-ovate. The leaf coloration varies from green-silver with white stripes or speckles to reddish-crimson and golden-pink tones on young shoots. In autumn, the foliage turns purple, crimson, red, orange, or yellow.
Flowering occurs in May with small yellow flowers, and red berries ripen by October. The variety is frost-hardy, withstands temperatures down to -32°C, is undemanding to soils, and is wind-resistant. To maintain the decorative leaf coloration, sufficient sunlight is required, as the plant's brightness decreases in the shade. Used in landscape design for solitary and group plantings, as well as for creating hedges.
