The shrub has a slender columnar shape with vertical shoots, reaching a height of 0.9–1.8 m and a width of 0.4–0.7 m. The leaves are small, rounded: bright yellow in spring, golden-yellow in summer, and acquiring orange and reddish shades in autumn. The intensity of the coloration depends on light exposure.
The plant blooms in May with small yellow flowers. Coral-red fruits mature in September, persisting on the branches in winter. The variety is frost-resistant (zone 4), drought-tolerant, resistant to urban air pollution, and undemanding to soil. It tolerates pruning well and is used for creating vertical accents, hedges, and container cultivation.
