The fruits of this variety have a rounded, often asymmetrical shape. The flesh is milky white, characterized by a firm, crunchy texture and a sweet taste. The variety is noted for its good peelability and high resistance to heat treatment.

The plant grows predominantly in calcareous volcanic soils with high humidity. The variety is traditionally used both for fresh consumption and for processing: preparation of desserts, production of candied chestnuts, and drying.
