The MARRONE PREMUTICO variety, also known as Primatico, Primaticcio or Pelusiello, is a historical local ecotype adapted to the conditions of the Lazio region. The tree is classified as vigorous.

Harvesting of this early variety begins in the second ten days of September and lasts about two weeks. One burr usually contains one to three fruits. The fruits have a spherical shape, a dark brown shell, and sweet flesh. The skin of the fruit separates easily, which is an important commercial characteristic.

The variety is intended for fresh consumption. In the Monti Cimini cultivation region, it is historical practice to soak the fruits in cold water to ensure their preservation and prevent the development of pathogens.
