Variety description

The variety requires a two-stage cultivation cycle: roots are grown in the open field and then subjected to forcing in the dark. Plant height ranges from 30 to 40 cm, and the height of the resulting chicons is 10–18 cm. The produce consists of dense, light-colored chicons with a delicate taste.

Seeds are sown in the open field from March to May in sunny areas with loose soil. Harvesting of roots for subsequent winter forcing is carried out in the autumn, in October or November. The variety is a historical type of witloof, therefore seeds from various producers may be offered under this name.
