The plant is a small evergreen tree or shrub 2 to 6 meters tall with a compact rounded crown, practically thornless. The leaves have a characteristic narrow lanceolate shape, resembling willow leaves.

The variety is early or mid-season, with the harvest taking place from November to January. The fruits are slightly flattened, 5–7.5 cm in diameter, and possess a thin, easily peelable rind and very sweet, fragrant pulp. Both seeded forms and seedless clones exist.

The plant is thermophilic and withstands temperature drops down to -7°C. Besides fresh consumption and culinary use, the variety is actively used in industry for extracting essential oils from the rind and leaves, and is also grown as an ornamental crop.
