Long sword-shaped leaves have a characteristic coloration: a combination of dark red and green colors with a contrasting bright pink border along the edges.

The plant reaches a height of up to 2.5 meters. During the summer period, the appearance of panicle inflorescences with small fragrant white flowers is possible. The variety requires well-drained soils, prefers full sun or partial shade, and has limited cold hardiness with a limit of about -7 °C.
