Merveille de Bollwiller
ActiveCorylus avellana L. · Common hazel
WEISSMANN (FR)
10 August 2026
The variety has a bushy form and reaches a height of 3 to 6 meters if not pruned. The nuts are large, ranging in shape from ovoid to oblong, and possess excellent taste qualities and a high oil content. The harvest ripens from mid-August to October and does not require mandatory drying.
The plant is relatively winter-hardy and resistant to diseases and pests, which allows for cultivation without the use of chemical protective agents. The variety is self-fertile, but the presence of other hazel varieties contributes to higher yields. In addition to fruit production, the shrub is used as an ornamental plant and for creating windbreak plantings.
