The variety is the result of intergeneric hybridization of Lolium multiflorum subsp. multiflorum and Festuca pratensis. It is a tetraploid hybrid combining the nutritional value of ryegrass with the longevity of fescue.
The plant belongs to the mid-late maturity group. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to lodging, rust, as well as good winter hardiness and longevity. It demonstrates high dry matter productivity, especially in the first cut.
