The variety is the result of crossing genotypes of tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea var. glaucescens) and tetraploid Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum). The work on creating the variety was carried out within the framework of breeding programs aimed at the development of forage grasses.
The use of wild forms of fescue as one of the parental components determined the specific genetic characteristics of the variety, which are oriented toward expanding genetic diversity. The variety was not intended for improving drought tolerance, and information regarding its commercial characteristics, including yield and product quality, is unavailable.
