The Mahulena variety belongs to the fescue type and, in terms of morphological characteristics, is close to tall fescue. The plant is characterized by early regrowth in spring and early heading, while possessing high adaptability to drought and waterlogged soil, as well as high winter hardiness.

The forage quality of the hybrid is higher than that of pure tall fescue due to the inheritance of a portion of the ryegrass genome. A notable feature is high palatability and the absence of stems in the aftermath. The variety does not contain endophytes and is suitable for intensive use in grass mixtures and for the production of hay, haylage, or for grazing.
