The variety «Lueur» was obtained by crossingtetraploid Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) and fescue (Festuca glaucescens). The plant is capable of entering a dormant state during severe drought, demonstrating tolerance comparable to tall fescue.
Hybridization provides improved feed palatability and digestibility indicators compared to purebred fescues. In scientific literature, the variety is used to study the genetic stability and genome composition of amphidiploid hybrids.
