The Burjassot Branco variety is classified as late: ripening begins in August and can extend into September. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth. In a number of climatic conditions, the variety may require pollination to obtain a high-quality harvest; otherwise, the fruits may drop or lose their organoleptic properties.
Fruits have a mass of about 70–80 g, a flattened shape, and lack a pronounced neck. The skin is light, varying from white to greenish-yellow; the flesh is red, very sweet, aromatic, with a honey undertone. The fruits are versatile in use: suitable for fresh consumption, drying, and making jams.
Historically, farmers used this plant as a rootstock for grafting less resistant fig varieties. The name Branco in the Portuguese tradition is often part of a long synonym series or a characteristic of fruit color, due to which it is sometimes confused with other light-colored varieties.
