Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is self-fertile and does not require pollination. The tree in open field conditions reaches a height of 3–4 meters, while when grown in containers, growth is limited to 1.5–2.0 meters. The plant is characterized as medium to vigorous with an open crown type.

Fruits weighing 35–45 g have a pear-like shape with a characteristic long ribbed neck. Upon full ripening, the olive-green skin may acquire a slight brownish tint. The pulp is dark cherry or deep red in color and is distinguished by a sweet taste with a slight acidity.

The variety possesses good transportability. Frost resistance is indicated in the range of -15...-22 °C, however, in temperate climate conditions, winter covering is recommended. Due to the popularity of the name in Italy, there are many local clones that may differ from this description.
