Variety description

The plant is a large shrub capable of reaching significant dimensions in width. The leaves have an oval-lanceolate shape, possess a bronze tint at a young age, and are covered on the underside with noticeable white tomentose pubescence.

Flowering occurs late, usually in September. Inflorescences are corymbose, consisting of fertile violet-purple flowers and pale pink sterile flowers on long pedicels. The plant prefers wind-protected areas in partial shade with moist, well-drained soils.
