Variety description

Compact shrub, approximately 1.2 m in height and width. Inflorescences are corymbose, up to 25 cm in diameter, consisting of fertile purple-blue flowers in the center and white sterile marginal flowers. Leaves are lanceolate, up to 25 cm long, with a serrated edge.

The variety is late-flowering, with a flowering period lasting from June-July to August-September. Prefers partial shade and moist, drained soils. In UK conditions, it is characterized as winter-hardy, withstanding temperature drops down to -5...-10°C.

The plant is susceptible to a number of diseases and pests, including spider mites, scale insects, grey mold, powdery mildew, and leaf spot. Used for solitary and group plantings, border arrangements, woodland gardens, or container gardening.
