The variety is a deciduous shrub reaching a height of about 2 meters and a width of up to 1.5 meters. The leaves have the characteristic pubescence of the species. The corymbose inflorescences consist of pale pink sterile marginal flowers and pink fertile flowers with long dark blue stamens. The flowering period is from June to August.
The plant prefers areas protected from direct sunlight, requiring evenly moist and organic-rich soils. The variety is used in ornamental gardening. Confusion in the identification of the variety is possible due to its external resemblance to other representatives of the Villosa group.
