Variety description

The variety has the synonym «Mariesii Perfecta» and is a shrub 1 to 2 meters tall. The leaves are large, ovate or elliptical, dark green, often with a glossy sheen. The inflorescences consist of small central fertile flowers and large sterile flowers along the edges.

Flowering occurs on the previous year's shoots from July to September. The shoots are stiff and upright, but during abundant flowering, the bush may take on a spreading shape. The variety prefers partial shade and moist, drained soils. Winter hardiness corresponds to zones 5–6b; it requires covering in cold climates.
