The shrub reaches a height of 90–120 cm and a width of 120–160 cm. It has dark green rounded leaves with a pointed tip and pronounced venation. Sturdy stems hold the inflorescences in an upright position even during precipitation.

Inflorescence type is lacecap, with sterile semi-double flowers. Petal coloration depends on soil acidity. Flowering occurs on the previous year's shoots during the summer period.

The plant is winter hardy in USDA zones 5–9 and possesses resistance to diseases. Requires partial shade or a sunny location with rich, moist, well-drained soils.
