The shrub is compact and densely foliated, reaching a height of 1.2–1.5 m with a comparable crown width. Leaves are broad, ovate, with serrated edges, and dark green in color.
Cap-type inflorescences consist of flowers with a purple-blue or deep pink base tone, which depends on soil acidity. A characteristic feature is the presence of a white border along the edge of the petals and a frequently occurring bluish "eye" in the center.
The plant prefers moist, rich soils and areas protected from the midday sun. The variety shows resistance to saline soils, and its winter hardiness corresponds to USDA zones 6b–9. The flowering period lasts through summer and autumn.
